Law enforcement runs in Andrew’s family.  His father, Sam Hanna, was a patrolman and detective for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department for almost 40 years before retiring and serving as the Chief of Police in Elwood.  His grandfather, James “Jim” Hanna, served 23 years at the Anderson Police Department before retiring having obtained the rank of Captain.  Andrew continued this tradition as a reserve officer for the Elwood Police Department from 2012-2016 and as a reserve officer for the Pendleton Police Department in 2020.
